About The Red Hen Project
The Red Hen Project is a dedicated charity that has been supporting children and families in Cambridge for over two decades. Their work is founded on the belief that a child's learning and wellbeing depend heavily on the support they receive at home.
The Project's core strength lies in its holistic and tailored support. Rather than offering a generic solution, their dedicated family workers provide crucial one-to-one assistance to meet the individual needs of each child and their family. They act as a vital bridge between home and school, helping to remove barriers to learning.
This support extends to addressing a wide range of family challenges—from difficulties with school attendance and managing behaviour to complex issues like housing, debt, and mental health.
By complementing this individual work with valuable group activities, workshops, and drop-in sessions, The Red Hen Project empowers parents, builds family resilience, and helps children grow up to be happy, healthy, and independent members of their community.
